In December 2021, Tipperary Studies received an historic map on loan from a Tipperary family whose ancestors were involved in the War of Independence. The map which has been cherished by the family for decades was kindly loaned so that a digital copy could be made for future generations. The map has a range of different annotations added by a member of the IRA and appear to detail operations relating to the 3rd Tipperary Brigade such as routes, possible arms dumps, safe houses and planned ambushes
